Portable, Carter Efe Trade Fierce Words Ahead Of Chaos In The Ring Showdown

According to Ireporter Online, social media personalities Habeeb “Portable” Badmus and Carter Efe have reignited tensions ahead of their highly anticipated celebrity boxing clash at Chaos in the Ring 4, trading heated remarks during a pre-fight face-off ahead of the May 1 event scheduled for Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Portable, who previously secured exhibition victories over Charles Okocha and Speed Darlington, stated confidently that he intends to claim another win and add a third belt to his record. He insisted that his past opponents were tougher than Carter Efe but still fell to him, expressing certainty that history would repeat itself in the upcoming bout.

Carter Efe, however, dismissed Portable’s claims, warning that the fight would be short-lived. He maintained that Portable stood no chance against him and vowed to end the contest quickly with a decisive strike once they meet in the ring.

The tension extended to the main event fighters, Ezra Arenyeka and Godday Appah, who also exchanged strong words during their face-off. Their bout, billed as a symbolic WBO Peace Fight representing the Itsekiri and Ijaw communities of the Niger Delta, quickly turned confrontational as both fighters abandoned any notion of friendship.

Appah declared that the fight was personal and tied to pride, his people, and victory, insisting that Arenyeka would not last beyond a few rounds. Arenyeka responded with equal intensity, predicting a knockout victory and warning that Appah would be overwhelmed early in the contest.

Other fighters on the card also added colour to the buildup. Ghana’s Elvis Ahorgah delivered poetic verbal taunts reminiscent of boxing legends, while Britain’s Joe Laws drew attention by painting his face in Nigerian colours to connect with the local crowd despite facing a rival nation’s fighter. British southpaw Michael McKinson, who has Nigerian heritage, also expressed excitement about competing in the country, stating his desire to make a strong impression against Algerian opponent Mohammad Sahnoun.

Balmoral Group Promotions CEO Ezekiel Adamu described the event as more than entertainment, emphasizing its role in providing global exposure and life-changing opportunities for young fighters while showcasing African boxing talent on an international stage.

The nine-bout event, promoted in collaboration with Amir Khan’s AK Promotions and sanctioned by the Nigeria Boxing Board of Control, will be broadcast live on DAZN. The lineup also features several undercard fights, including promising teenage boxer Raheem Animashaun, national champions, and international matchups spanning Nigeria, Tanzania, Ghana, the UK, Algeria, and Congo.
