A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alwan Hassan, has taken a swipe at former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, describing him as a man who lacks control in his household and allegedly depends on his wife for sustenance.

According to iReporter Online, Hassan made this statement during a recent interview, where he questioned Amaechi’s capacity to lead a nation while admitting that his wife is the financial backbone of their family.

He emphasized that leadership begins at home and that any man who cannot take charge of his household should not aspire to lead Nigeria.

Amaechi, a two-term governor of Rivers State, had earlier claimed in an interview that his wife, Judith Amaechi, is an entrepreneur whose business acumen predates his entry into public service.

He described her as the “backbone” of their family, crediting her industriousness for their financial stability. But Hassan was unsparing in his response.

“We will not hand over Nigeria to a man who is being fed by his wife,” he declared.

According to iReporter Online, he insisted that the country needs a “complete man,” not someone who has relinquished control of his household.

He further stated, “Is it those ones that are saying their wives are taking care of them? Nigerians are watching.

According to iReporter Online, we want a man who is in charge — a man who leads his home with strength and conviction. Not someone dependent on a woman to run his affairs.”
