Editorial: Dennis Idahosa’s Legacy Projects Excites Nigerians As Lawmaker Breaks The Glass Ceiling
Politics makes the world goes round, it affects everything that goes on in our country, our state, communities and even our schools and homes. We must accept the fact that politics matters.
Our lives are how they are because of political decisions at the state level, and federal level.
Politics has its own intricacies that limit the performance of elected representatives. Most elected legislators have boundaries that often restrain them from performing optimally to the satisfaction of constituents. Excuses are the order of the day.
The glass ceiling is a metaphor for the invisible barrier that prevents some people from rising to senior positions or attaining great achievements.
What is the legacy you wish to create? What do you want to remain long after your service to your people? Would your legacy stand the test of time long after your exit?
These questions should be what is paramount in the minds of our lawmakers across the federation.
In politics, only a few have gone beyond the limitations to set a legacy for themselves. One legislator that has extremely done well for himself is Hon Dennis Idahosa the lawmaker representing Ovia Federal Constituency in the National Assembly.
HE HAS BROKEN THE GLASS CEILING when it comes to performance. The majority of our lawmakers across the federation are full of excuses for not meeting up with their legislative responsibilities, from the usual cries of we are not the Government to other flimsy excuses they give nebulous reasons why they fall short of expectations.
Ovia residents can’t be more proud of a representative like Dennis Idahosa. He has shown that you don’t have to be a Governor or President before you can impact meaningfully on your people.
His signature projects are speaking for him and would go a long way to define governance in Nigeria. Dennis Idahosa is not only walking the talk he has gone beyond cosmetic approaches to developing a formidable future for his people.
Dennis Idahosa is building physical bridges to link communities, the new Aden Bridge constructed by the lawmaker is a legacy project that is very sustainable and of great impact to Aden community and other neighbouring communities.
In 2021 alone, Dennis Idahosa constructed three skills acquisition centres across Ovia Federal Constituency. These facilities which are about 90 % completed would be of immense benefit to the people of Ovia. The ultra-modern skills centres can be utilised by everyone irrespective of political affiliations or religious/ cultural preferences.
It is capable of creating a technology hub, the Local Council, the State Government, Federal Agencies and even individuals can make use of the facility to further develop the raw talents of youths in Ovia.
Dennis Idahosa has embarked on the construction of health centres, over 23 schools, renovations of dilapidated schools, sustainable youth empowerment schemes and so many other laudable initiatives that are too numerous to mention.
Nigerians are excited that some lawmakers are making the difference, only if our legislators across the federation can emulate this youthful politician it would go a long way in alleviating the sufferings we currently face collectively as a Nation.
If lawmakers can assist the government in building Physical Bridges, Ultra Modern Skills Acquisition Centres, Health Facilities, Well-furnished Schools etc then Nigeria would be on a journey to greatness.
For us, as a nation to attain our glory, it is a collective effort by all tiers of Government and we the citizens.
God bless Nigeria.
