‘Edo No Be Lagos’: Atiku Warns Against Vote Rigging Ahead Of Election

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has issued a warning against any attempts to manipulate the upcoming governorship election in Edo State. Naija News reports that on Saturday, September 21, residents of Edo will head to the polls to elect their next governor.

Atiku, who visited Edo today alongside other key members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to support the party’s candidate, stressed that Edo is not like Lagos, where, according to him, the All Progressives Congress (APC) could orchestrate electoral fraud.

Speaking at the PDP’s final campaign rally in the Ekenwan area of Edo State, the PDP’s 2023 presidential candidate urged the people of Edo to protect their votes and prevent rigging.

He said, “Four years ago, they threatened us, didn’t they? They said they wouldn’t allow us to win in Edo State. But we showed them that ‘Edo no be Lagos,’ didn’t we?”

Atiku encouraged voters to stay vigilant, adding, “This time again, we will show them that ‘Edo no be Lagos.’ They can’t steal votes here, so protect, defend, and escort your votes. Make sure your votes are counted, and results are announced.”

As the election approaches, the leading candidates include Asue Ighodalo (PDP), Monday Okpebholo (APC), and Olumide Akpata (Labour Party).
