Eja Nla! Jagaban The Moving Train Set To Rescue Nigeria By Osigwe Omo-Ikirodah
Nigeria is currently making the news for the wrong reasons, insecurity, threats of succession, Yahoo plus ritualist on the prowl, bandits and lack of social amenities are issues that are quite worrisome. The instability in the oil and gas sector, the deadly coronavirus pandemic and the lack of adequate planning/implementation over the decades has put Nigeria in a sordid state.
It’s quite unfortunate that Nigeria has always had a lazy form of government aside from the Federal Government. Whereby every other government structure starting from the State to local government and up to the various parastatals are bereft of ideas and creativity.
It is so sad that if the Federal Government faces difficulties then the states suddenly becomes handicapped and can no longer provide for their citizens and finally retort to blaming the Federal Government for their woes.
The same states that a few years ago depended on bailout funds to pay their workers salaries. Money was injected into their system and yet not even a little was achieved from the intervention so to speak from Big Daddy(FG). I doubt if they ever showed gratitude to the Federal Government for the largesse.
Nigeria is full of gossip mills, they love to discuss trending disasters without sitting down and dissecting the root cause of their problems and painfully think of ways to surmount the hurdles. They only relish in the negative narration and lament all through thereby attracting more woes to themselves.
If Nigeria as a Nation goes broke totally and can not meet its statutory obligations of sharing allocations to the States, what then happens to the 36 States of the federation in terms of the Civil service force and the State entrepreneurs and its citizens? Your answer is as good as mine, Nigeria would probably go into extinction, but one state from antecedents that can not suffer such ill fate is Lagos State.
The sons and daughters of hate in their usual characteristic manner would throw all sorts of insults at me, but the truth must be told, only Lagos would survive the disaster if Nigeria turns out to be unable to share money in Abuja just like the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki alleged.
Call it a prediction of doom or whatever, the truth is naked and for all to see. Lagos has survived years without Federal Allocation and came out stronger, Lagos is the fifth largest economy in Africa and does not depend on Federal Allocation to maintain that enviable status.
Lagos is like MONEY it does not sleep and works round the clock. Lagos is like the land that flows with milk and honey even in the nucleus of poverty. What an ironic statement but factual, Lagos challenges itself, it is like the Diamond that gets better with age. The more the turbulence the more Lagos thinks of organic ways to stay afloat.
Lagos State has always had a visionary template which it religiously pursues. Lagos State has since left the train station headed for its destination.
My greatest worry is that some certain Nigerians fail to see that only the coming general elections can take the country out of these doldrums we, unfortunately, find ourselves. Nigeria can never break up no matter whatever indices you project.
If Nigeria breaks up no single country would emerge that would see peace in the next hundred years. So if we accept that the elections are the easiest way to change things in our polity then let us sit back and reflect who amongst our political elites can lift us out of these precarious times we find ourselves.
Only one man can be easily picked amongst the crowd of politicians we have and say yes he has done it before and of course he will do it again.
That man ladies and gentlemen is Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu the Asiwaju of Lagos State and the Jagaban of Borgu.
Eja Nla the big fish has no hiding place. His capacity to formulate a winning team that never gives up, that is focused on the target, that has a clear vision on the way forward is the right recipe we need now for our nation.
If Nigeria must be great again then we must vote only tested and trusted hands, we must be seen to play our part in joining hands with a visionary leader in setting the template for sustainable growth.
Asiwaju Tinubu won the battle against zero allocation and came out stronger thereby making Lagos what it is today.
Let us join the moving train and reset Nigeria to a path of greatness whereby its citizens would be proud to call themselves Nigerians wherever they may find themselves.
Tinubu happens to be the right choice, Hop on the moving train and create a future with lots of possibilities.
