According to the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Temitope Akinbisoye, Miss Opemiposi Precious Bolaji, who initiated the assault, and Miss Genesis Osaro, who provided the stick used in the attack, have been expelled with immediate effect for their misconduct. However, Miss Gloria Ajayi, the victim, has been exonerated as she did not retaliate during the altercation.
Furthermore, the students who recorded and shared the video on social media have been cautioned and advised to report such incidents to the appropriate university authorities rather than escalating them online. Additionally, Mr. Olawale Ajewole, who attempted to intervene by locking Miss Gloria Ajayi in a room to prevent further harm, has been exonerated.
The university authorities emphasized their commitment to promoting a safe and respectful environment on campus and encouraged students to report any form of harassment or violence immediately.
Meanwhile, the Ekiti State Police Command has initiated a discreet investigation into the incident. The state Commissioner of Police has directed the Ikere Area Commander to collaborate with the university management to identify and investigate the perpetrator, ensuring that legal actions are taken against those responsible for the “barbaric action.”
As the investigations proceed, both the university and law enforcement agencies are focused on ensuring justice and maintaining the safety and well-being of the university community.
