Emir of Daura Declares: Tinubu Is Our 2027 Presidential Choice!
The Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Farouk Umar, has publicly declared his backing for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s potential re-election campaign in 2027, expressing unwavering loyalty to Tinubu’s leadership. The influential northern monarch made this statement on Saturday during a condolence visit by First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu to the family of the late President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura, Katsina State.
Senator Tinubu led a delegation of high-profile figures, including the wives of key political officeholders such as the Senate President, Speaker of the House of Representatives, governors, ministers, and military commanders. The entourage extended their condolences to Hajiya Aisha Buhari and other members of the Buhari family, paying homage to the former president’s life of service.
While receiving the First Lady’s delegation at his palace, the Emir of Daura spoke glowingly of Buhari’s dedication to national development and described him as a patriot of uncommon calibre. In the same breath, the royal father boldly reaffirmed Daura’s political loyalty to President Tinubu, stressing that his Emirate would continue to support the president’s leadership beyond 2027.
According to iReporter Online, Emir Farouk did not mince words as he declared: “President Bola Tinubu remains our choice for 2027. We stand firmly with him and will continue to support his administration as it strives to deliver on its mandate to the Nigerian people.”
Senator Tinubu, in her address, paid glowing tribute to the late Buhari’s legacy, emphasizing his principles of integrity, sacrifice, and statesmanship. She noted that Buhari’s impact would not be forgotten and that Nigerians would continue to cherish his contributions to the nation’s progress.
According to iReporter Online, the Emir’s endorsement is viewed in political circles as a powerful boost for Tinubu’s future ambitions, especially as it comes from Daura—widely considered a symbolic stronghold in Northern politics. The open declaration of support from such a high-ranking traditional ruler signals a continuation of political alignment between key northern elites and the presidency.
The First Lady’s visit, which drew attention from political analysts and observers, was not only a condolence mission but also served as a subtle reaffirmation of alliances. According to iReporter Online, the occasion offered a glimpse into the evolving power dynamics ahead of the 2027 general elections, with traditional institutions already staking positions.
