Fans Mourn Deeply As Ibrahim Chatta Confirms Son’s Death
popular Nollywood actor Ibrahim Chatta has been plunged into grief following the death of his son. The 54-year-old actor announced the heartbreaking news on Saturday via his Instagram page, describing the incident as an act of God.
He posted a photo of his late son with the caption, “Inna Lillahi wa inna ileyhi rajiun. Ya Allah, you are the knower of all things. Rest on, Dear son, champ.”
This is not the first tragedy Chatta has endured. He once revealed that his first child, a baby girl, passed away years ago due to his inability to afford medical treatment at the time. He painfully recalled how she was laid to rest in a wooden crate after his efforts to raise money came too late.
The actor’s loss comes just days after another Nollywood figure, Peju Ogunmola, lost her only son, Ayomikun, on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. The 24-year-old was the child of Ogunmola and her husband, veteran actor Omobolanle Sunday.
In a separate development, Nigerian singer Nwachukwu Ozioko, popularly known as Vast of Bracket, reflected on his past battle with lymphoma, a type of blood cancer, which he was diagnosed with in 2013. Speaking on the AFRIMMA Podcast, Vast described the experience as unforgettable, adding that the unwavering support of his team, who came together to raise funds for his treatment, played a pivotal role in his recovery.
