Former AGF, Aondoakaa Reveals Implication Of ‘Tinubu’s Dual Citizenship’
Former Attorney-General of the Federation, Michael Aondoakaa, has stated that the uproar over President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s dual citizenship is merely academic.
Tinubu’s Guinea passport caused quite a stir after it surfaced on social media a few weeks ago.

In an Arise Television interview on Monday, Aondoakaa, SAN, put the matter to rest, saying that anyone born in Nigeria and acquiring citizenship in another country can run for elective office in Nigeria.

Aondoakaa said: “But assuming it was in the petition, the position of the law is that a person who has dual citizenship by naturalisation or registration cannot contest for president in Nigeria.
“But a person born in Nigeria and acquired citizenship in another country can contest an election. It would be strange to say that the winner of the election, Tinubu, has the citizenship of another country”.
