Former PDP Presidential Aspirant Reveals Why Wike Needs Support As FCT Minister
Charles Okwudili Ugwu, a former presidential aspirant from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is advocating for support for Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), in his ambitious transformation agenda.
Ugwu emphasizes that Wike, the former governor of Rivers State, should receive strong backing in order to effectively utilize his appointment by President Bola Tinubu. This support is crucial for Wike to bring his outstanding work ethic from Rivers State to bear on his responsibilities as the FCT Minister.

In a statement released recently, titled “Empowering Wike,” Ugwu, a prominent lawyer and businessman based in Abuja, commends Wike’s remarkable track record of development in Rivers State. He contends that Tinubu’s decision to select Wike for this role is a commendable choice, as Wike has the potential to replicate his success in Abuja. Ugwu underscores the need for a leader with Wike’s boldness and unwavering convictions to maintain and expand the existing social infrastructure in the city, accomplishing these tasks swiftly.
Ugwu expresses, “Abuja requires a leader like Wike, who possesses the courage to translate his promises into action at this critical juncture. Wike deserves the support of all Nigerians to enable him to concentrate on his duties and replicate his development achievements in Rivers, rather than being distracted by unwarranted criticism.”
Furthermore, Ugwu emphasizes the necessity of Wike’s presence in the FCT, stating that it is essential for preserving the deteriorating social infrastructure while simultaneously introducing new ones. This approach ensures that residents throughout the FCT can enjoy high-quality infrastructure comparable to that of the city center.
