GADA Refutes Assault Claims, Defends Sealing of Illegal Structure at Enyimba TV and Radio

The Greater Aba Development Authority (GADA) has denied allegations of assaulting staff of Enyimba TV and Radio following an incident involving an illegal building on the station’s premises. According to a statement from Chibuzo Amaechi, Head of Information Unit and Public Relations Officer for GADA, the agency sealed the unauthorized structure on August 12, 2025, without any form of harassment, assault, or arrests.

GADA explained that a court order mandated all parties to maintain the status quo, which the agency respected by refraining from any site visits for three months. However, it became aware that the owner of the property had unlawfully unsealed the building and resumed construction activities without any court approval, prompting GADA to report the matter to the police.

The agency emphasized that the sealing operation was conducted peacefully and was not targeted at any individual or organization.

In contrast, Enyimba FM and TV Limited stated that their operations were disrupted around 11 a.m. by unidentified men arriving in six buses. The station condemned GADA’s actions, alleging that the agency defied a court order issued on July 29, 2025, by an Abia State High Court, referenced as Suit No. A/137/2025.
