According to Ireporter Online, Turkish football giants Galatasaray are reportedly exploring the possibility of signing Nigerian winger Ademola Lookman, potentially reuniting him with fellow countryman Victor Osimhen. The move is being considered ahead of the next transfer window, a year after Osimhen joined the club on a permanent deal following a successful loan spell.

Galatasaray initially attempted to secure Lookman during the summer transfer period, but Atalanta’s €60 million valuation stalled negotiations. Speaking at a recent award ceremony, Galatasaray’s General Secretary, Eray Yazgan, provided a measured update on the club’s transfer plans. “We have a great squad right now, it is quite enough. As I said, we are building on it. We will definitely continue to build on it as our coach desires and needs,” he said.

Lookman, who recently won the African Footballer of the Year award, has experienced a challenging spell at Atalanta. Reports indicate he went on strike after a failed transfer to Inter Milan and later clashed with former coach Ivan Juric during Atalanta’s Champions League victory over Marseille, with claims that Juric physically grabbed him while substituting him. Juric has since been replaced by Raffaele Palladino, but Lookman’s future at Atalanta remains uncertain. His contract with the Serie A side runs until June 2027, meaning any potential transfer would require a significant investment.
