Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen’s highly anticipated permanent move to Galatasaray has dramatically collapsed following a fiery standoff between the Turkish club and Napoli, where the Nigerian star is still under contract.

According to iReporter Online, the transfer impasse came to light after Turkish football pundit Ugur Karakullukçu revealed damning details of the failed negotiations. He alleged that Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis rebuffed Galatasaray’s efforts in harsh terms, signaling a complete breakdown in diplomatic relations between both clubs.

“While Galatasaray officials were in Italy for Osimhen talks, De Laurentiis sent a blunt message through a middleman on his yacht: ‘Tell these guys I am not selling to Galatasaray. They should get lost,’” Karakullukçu stated, clarifying that the Napoli boss used language far stronger than publicly reported.

Despite Osimhen’s blistering form last season — scoring 37 goals and delivering 8 assists in 41 appearances to help Galatasaray clinch a domestic double — Napoli appears unwilling to sell him to the Turkish champions, effectively halting the transfer process.

According to iReporter Online, several clubs across the Premier League and Serie A have now reignited interest in the 26-year-old forward, with talks underway for potential alternatives as Napoli holds out for a more prestigious or lucrative deal.

Meanwhile, another Nigerian star, Ademola Lookman, is drawing significant interest during the summer transfer window. Inter Milan is reportedly preparing a €35 million bid to pry him away from Atalanta, where he netted 15 goals and added 4 assists in 31 appearances last season.

However, Atalanta is playing hardball, valuing Lookman at around €50 million — a stance that may force Inter to negotiate or risk losing out. With just one year left on his contract, the situation remains fluid and potentially favorable to buyers.

According to iReporter Online, top European clubs including Juventus, Arsenal, Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid are also monitoring Lookman’s availability, adding further intrigue to what could become one of the summer’s most competitive transfer battles.

As the transfer window heats up, both Osimhen and Lookman are once again proving their status as hot commodities in European football, with their next moves set to shape their careers — and potentially redefine their clubs’ ambitions for the 2025/2026 season.
