“Game-Changer! Shettima Bets Big On MSMEs To Fuel Nigeria’s Next GDP Surge”

Vice President Kashim Shettima has emphasized that the Federal Government is deliberately channeling investments into the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Clinics initiative, highlighting its critical role in job creation, poverty alleviation, and boosting Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

Speaking during the seventh edition of the Expanded National MSME Clinics held in Akure, the Ondo State capital, Shettima reiterated that the initiative forms a core component of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, designed to unlock the vast potential of Nigeria’s small business ecosystem.

According to IReporter Online, the Vice President stated that the MSME Clinics aim to eliminate bottlenecks in business registration and regulation by bringing relevant government agencies closer to entrepreneurs and providing them with real-time support.

Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, commended the initiative as a timely intervention, aligning with his administration’s efforts to drive entrepreneurship and sustainable economic development.

He affirmed that small businesses are the heartbeat of Nigeria’s economy and deserve unwavering support from all levels of government.

According to IReporter Online, Aiyedatiwa welcomed the choice of Ondo State as host for the event, describing it as a testament to the Federal Government’s inclusive governance approach.

Similarly, Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, lauded the Federal Government’s consistent support for MSMEs, hailing the Clinics as a landmark initiative that bridges economic growth with grassroots development.

He praised the Office of the Vice President for sustaining what he termed the first genuine effort by any administration to align national growth with widespread development.

According to IReporter Online, Oyebanji acknowledged the transformational impact of the initiative in Ekiti and expressed confidence that Ondo State would reap similar benefits.

Beyond MSMEs, Oyebanji also spoke on agricultural advancement during the commissioning of the “Ounje Ekiti Retail Outlet” and “Ilu Eye Aggregation Hub” in Ado-Ekiti.

He disclosed that his administration had invested over N50 billion in agribusiness and food security, aiming to make Ekiti State self-sufficient in food production.
He stated that the initiative is a strategic response to food distribution challenges, post-harvest losses, and market inefficiencies, all of which are being addressed under recommendations from the Ekiti State Food Security Committee.
