Ganduje Declares NNPP Defunct Signals Kwankwaso Return To APC

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has declared the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) effectively defunct, suggesting that its national leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, is on the verge of rejoining the ruling party.

He highlighted ongoing efforts to strengthen the APC through the steady defection of influential politicians and lawmakers from various parts of the country, reinforcing the party’s national presence and political influence.

“The NNPP is no longer a viable political force—it is effectively dead and will soon be formally buried. The coffin has been prepared, and the grave is already being dug,” Ganduje remarked figuratively.

He continued, “Even the party’s national leader has acknowledged the loss of key allies and is now seeking to return. We are open to receiving him back into the party—after all, he’s returning home.”

Ganduje also dismissed recent attempts by opposition groups to form a coalition against President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections. He predicted that such alliances would ultimately disintegrate, with their leaders eventually gravitating back to the APC.
