German Tactician Bruno Labbadia Named 37th Head Coach of Super Eagles
Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has officially appointed German coach Bruno Labbadia as the new Head Coach of Nigeria’s Senior Men National Team, the Super Eagles. This decision makes Labbadia the 37th individual to take up the prestigious role.
The announcement came early Tuesday morning from NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi. He stated, “The NFF Executive Committee has approved the recommendation of its Technical and Development Sub-Committee to appoint Mr. Bruno Labbadia as the Head Coach of the Super Eagles. The appointment is with immediate effect.”
Born on February 8, 1966, in Darmstadt, Germany, Labbadia boasts an impressive football career. As a player, he earned two caps for the German national team, Die Mannschaft, and played for top clubs including Hamburger SV, Bayern Munich, and Werder Bremen. Notably, he secured a Bundesliga title with Bayern Munich in 1994.
Labbadia’s coaching career is equally distinguished. He has managed several prominent Bundesliga clubs, such as Hertha Berlin and VfB Stuttgart, showcasing his tactical prowess and experience in one of the world’s top football leagues.
