Gov. Aiyedatiwa Dismisses All Political Aides

According to Ireporter Online, Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has terminated the appointments of all political aides in his administration, including Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) and Special Assistants (SAs), effective immediately.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ebenezer Adeniyan, stated that the move is part of a strategic effort to improve efficiency and enhance service delivery within the state’s administrative framework.

Adeniyan explained that the mass dismissal precedes plans by the Governor to inject fresh capacity into the administration through the appointment of approximately 1,000 new aides drawn from the 203 wards across the state’s 18 local government areas.

“In the ongoing drive to enhance efficiency and deepen service delivery, Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has relieved all political aides of their duties with immediate effect,” the statement read. “Those affected are Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants to the Governor. The Governor thanked them for their contributions to the development of the State thus far and wished them well in their future endeavours.”

The announcement follows a wave of voluntary resignations from some aides ahead of the 2027 general elections, signaling a major reshuffle in the state’s political landscape.
