Gov Okpebholo Unveils Bold New Appointment

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has appointed Theophilus Egbodion, a distinguished professional and public servant, as the first-ever Chairman of the Edo State Commission for Persons with Disabilities.

Egbodion’s appointment was confirmed in a letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Musa Ikhilor.

In his remarks, Egbodion expressed deep gratitude to the Governor, describing the appointment as a call to service. He pledged to lead with compassion, prioritizing the needs of persons living with disabilities.

Born in 1978 in Uromi, Edo State, Egbodion has consistently demonstrated resilience and dedication in both personal and professional spheres, despite facing physical challenges. He attended Federal Government College, Warri, graduating in 2000, and later earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, in 2006.

Egbodion’s leadership abilities earned him an early appointment as Special Adviser to the Chairman of Esan North East Local Government. In 2011, he joined Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital (ISTH) as a Data Processing Officer, where his commitment and expertise saw him rise through the ranks.
