Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State has called on the citizens of the state to remain steadfast and committed to the principles of democracy to help build a more prosperous and enduring nation.

In his Democracy Day message on Wednesday, the Governor congratulated Nigerians on achieving 25 years of uninterrupted democracy. He emphasized the importance of honoring the memories of those who fought for the nation’s democratic freedoms.

“We honour the memories of the heroes and heroines who bravely struggled for the current democratic dispensation we enjoy as a nation,” Governor Abdulrazaq said.

He urged citizens to uphold the sacrifices of these democratic heroes by consistently demonstrating patriotism and contributing to efforts that strengthen the nation’s democratic experience. Acknowledging the challenges that may arise, he stressed the need for resilience and unwavering commitment to democratic ideals.

“We may face a few challenges in this journey. We must, however, remain resolute, unbroken, and recommit to the ideals of democracy to build a more prosperous and enduring nation,” the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) added.
