Governor Okpebholo Orders In-Depth Probe Into Obaseki Government’s Assets And Liabilities

A statement from the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, confirmed that the committee would be inaugurated on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at the Government House in Benin City.

The committee’s members include Dr. Ernest Afolabi Umakhihe as Chairman, Anslem Ojezua as Deputy Chairman, and several others, such as Prince Kassim Afegbua, Hon. Patrick Ikhariale, and Mr. Taiwo Akerele.

The formation of the committee is part of Governor Okpebholo’s efforts to promote transparency, accountability, and development in the state. Despite previous requests for a comprehensive database of assets and liabilities from the Obaseki administration, the outgoing government provided minimal information. This new committee aims to ensure probity in governance.
