Fatai Owoseni, the Special Adviser to Governor Makinde on Security, confirmed that Oyo is working closely with these neighboring states to address the growing security challenge. This initiative was highlighted during a briefing by Owoseni following a meeting of the state security council.

Owoseni reassured Oyo residents, urging them to carry on with their daily activities without fear. He emphasized that the state government is fully committed to ensuring their safety and would spare no effort in securing the state from criminal elements, including bandits.

To strengthen its security framework, the state government plans to hold expanded meetings that will include local government leaders and traditional rulers. This initiative aims to take security efforts directly to the grassroots level, leveraging the proximity and influence of local authorities.

Owoseni further stressed that security is a collective responsibility, one that requires the participation of every citizen. By involving local leaders and traditional rulers in the security network, the state is fostering community engagement in the fight against banditry and ensuring that no stone is left unturned in its efforts to maintain peace.
