Nigerian music sensation Yemi Alade has opened up about her longing to settle down, expressing her desire to avoid living a lonely life despite her thriving career.

According to Ireporter Online, the award-winning singer made this revelation during a candid conversation with media personality Chude, where she reflected on her journey, dreams, and outlook on love and companionship.

The “Johnny” hitmaker disclosed that she envisions a private wedding far from public attention, preferably on a secluded island where she can enjoy peace and intimacy. She explained that while her career has brought her immense success, the music industry can often feel isolating, prompting her to crave genuine connection and companionship in her personal life.

Speaking on her career growth, Yemi Alade recounted how her rise to fame was the result of relentless effort and self-determination. She emphasized that she charted her own path in the industry without depending on anyone to pave the way.

The Afropop star revealed that, in her early days, she performed at over 300 free shows to gain experience and build her reputation. She also noted that unlike many, she did not depend on Western collaborations to achieve global recognition, asserting that African artists can thrive on their own terms.

In her words, “This industry is already a lonely place. I’m not about to live my actual life lonely. I dream of having a private wedding on one coded island like that. I didn’t need the stars ahead of me to hand me a baton. I made my own lane. There’s space for me.”
