Speaking in a conversation with media personality Chude Jideonwo, the actor recounted how he was frequently ridiculed by children in his neighbourhood while growing up. He noted that the mockery followed him both at home and in his community, adding that even members of his family occasionally used hurtful names during disagreements, which made the experience even more distressing.

He explained that the constant teasing took a heavy toll on his emotional wellbeing and left him in a very difficult mental state at a young age. However, he credited his mother for being a strong pillar of support during those trying moments, stating that she consistently encouraged him to ignore the insults and remain focused on his education, especially since he was unable to engage in physically demanding tasks like his peers.

He said, “I was constantly mocked by children in my neighbourhood. Even my siblings sometimes used the same hurtful names during arguments. The way people treated me pushed me into a very dark place. There was a time I felt the weight was too much to carry. My mother stood by me when things were really hard. She told me to ignore the insults and focus on my education. Her advice gave me direction and hope for the future, and those words helped shape the path that led to my success.”
