According to Ireporter Online, Afrobeats star Omah Lay has boldly declared his ambition to become the wealthiest African artist of all time within the next few years, expressing strong confidence in his creative direction and long-term vision.
The Port Harcourt-born singer made the statement during a recent interview on Kiss Xtra, where he spoke candidly about his artistic mindset, describing himself as someone deeply driven by the need to constantly create. He explained that his mental balance depends on continuous artistic expression, adding that his creativity fuels both his personal and professional growth.
Omah Lay further revealed his plans to build innovative systems and ideas he believes could have a global impact, while positioning himself at the top of Africa’s music industry in terms of wealth and influence.
“I am crazy. My head is not correct. I need to create art to feel good. I am going to be the wealthiest African artiste ever in a few years. I am going to build stuff that would change the world,” he said.
The singer, whose real name is Stanley Omah Didia, also spoke about the artists who inspire his sound and career journey, naming Wizkid, Burna Boy, Drake, The Weeknd, Bruno Mars, and Harry Styles as his key musical influences.
Omah Lay, who has gained widespread recognition for his fusion of Afrobeats and R&B, continues to expand his global presence through hit records and high-profile collaborations, further solidifying his status in the contemporary music scene.
