The actor, known for his role in Papa Ajasco and Company, recently returned to public discussion after a viral interview in March 2026 with media personality Lucky Udu, where he spoke about the challenges he has faced in the entertainment industry. The interview triggered mixed reactions across social media and the broader public.

Following the viral moment, producer Wale Adenuga responded, stating that Ayoyinka had previously enjoyed considerable support during his time on the show, including access to vehicles such as a Mercedes Benz.

The situation escalated further after Udu publicly reacted, accusing the actor of not showing sufficient appreciation for efforts made to support him. Udu also claimed he had attempted to arrange additional assistance, including a planned meeting with a pastor in Abuja, though the plan reportedly did not materialize.

In a fresh interview with media personality Daddy Freeze, Ayoyinka clarified that while the viral interview brought him renewed public attention and financial assistance from Nigerians, he did not receive any car or large foreign currency gift as alleged.

He explained that donations from supporters amounted to nearly ₦6 million, contributed by individuals across different income levels, ranging from small amounts to as much as ₦1 million. However, he stressed that no luxury vehicle or $25,000 gift was given to him.

“I’m still trekking and jumping buses. I did not receive any car; some people even came to my house expecting to see a car, but there was none,” he said.

Ayoyinka also addressed claims made by Adenuga, acknowledging that he previously owned an old Mercedes 200 during his acting career but noted that he no longer possesses the vehicle.

He further stated that his decision to speak publicly was to correct misinformation surrounding his situation and to clarify the nature of the support he actually received. He also revealed that attempts to maintain communication with Udu after the interview were unsuccessful, despite earlier plans to meet in Abuja.
