Infantino and Trump previously shared a positive relationship during Trump’s first term, notably when the U.S. won the bid to co-host the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Trump’s re-election victory over Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, with 267 electoral votes to her 224, secures his second term ahead of the much-anticipated World Cup on U.S. soil.
Following Trump’s win, Infantino posted: “Congratulations, Mr. President! We will have a fantastic FIFA World Cup and Club World Cup in the USA! Football Unites the World!”
