Investors Applaud Gombe’s N22bn Industrial Park as Game-Changer

The Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park in Gombe State has drawn widespread praise from business leaders and investors, who have described the N22 billion project as a transformative effort capable of reshaping the economic landscape of the North-East.

Located in Dadin Kowa, the industrial park is already attracting operational firms, despite construction still ongoing. Stakeholders say the facility—designed for agro-processing, logistics, and manufacturing—signals a new era of industrial growth and job creation.

Leading a delegation of investors during a facility tour, Alhaji Abdullahi Baba-Isa hailed the park as the region’s “best investment destination,” citing Governor Muhammadu Yahaya’s role in creating a business-friendly environment.

“This is more than just infrastructure; it’s an economic game-changer,” Baba-Isa said, affirming confidence that the park will transform Gombe’s investment landscape and accelerate development across the region.

Local business groups echoed the same optimism. The Chairman of the Groundnut Oil Millers Association, Malam Sani Yau, noted that many of their members are planning to expand production to take advantage of the industrial hub’s facilities.

He added that the park would not only boost productivity and reduce unemployment but could also lead to lower consumer prices by encouraging local manufacturing.

Yau appealed to the government to reserve a dedicated section of the park for groundnut and rice millers to further enhance food security and promote exports.

Also weighing in, the Chairman of the Rice Processors Association, Alhaji Lawan Yusuf, called the initiative a lifeline for Gombe’s youth.

“This is more than an industrial site—it is a place of hope. If utilised properly, it can provide over 100,000 jobs and ensure security in the state,” Yusuf said, urging both local and foreign investors to embrace the opportunity.

He emphasized that with infrastructure already in place, the next step is for the private sector to move in and drive economic transformation.

Strategically positioned near the Dadin Kowa Dam, the industrial park offers reliable power and water supply—key incentives for companies looking to establish long-term operations.

According to government officials, the park is part of Gombe’s broader agenda to position itself as a leading industrial centre in Northern Nigeria, by fostering economic diversification and regional competitiveness.

With momentum building and business interest rising, the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park is being seen as more than just a development project—it is being heralded as a symbol of Gombe’s emergence as an investment magnet for the North-East.
