Jim Iyke Says The Nollywood Industry Is Filled With Too Many Saboteurs

According to Ireporter Online, popular Nollywood actor Jim Iyke has spoken about what he believes are the internal challenges affecting the Nigerian film industry, stating that many of its setbacks are driven from within.

The actor noted that some individuals in Nollywood allegedly engage in actions that hinder the growth and progress of others, describing such behavior as a major issue slowing down the industry’s development. He stressed that if given the opportunity to make a change, his priority would be to remove those he referred to as internal disruptors.

Jim Iyke made this known during an interview with the BBC, where he reflected on his experiences in Nollywood and expressed concern over what he described as persistent sabotage among industry players. He suggested that such conduct requires serious attention and, in some cases, professional intervention.

“Is there is one thing I would love to change about Nollywood, it would be to purge saboteurs from the industry. The industry is full of saboteurs. They can’t help themselves. They need therapy,” he was quoted as saying.

The actor also opened up on a personal moment that deeply affected him, revealing that he was once overwhelmed with emotion after his son praised his acting talent in glowing terms. He said the heartfelt compliment left him emotional, prompting him to step away briefly to regain composure.
