JUST IN: APC Reacts To Suspension Of Chimaroke Nnamani For Supporting Tinubu Over Atiku

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has chastised the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for suspending Senator Chimaroke Nnamani, who represents Enugu East Senatorial District.

The PDP’s National Working Committee, NWC, suspended the former Enugu governor on Friday for alleged anti-party activities.

The suspension could be linked to the lawmaker’s decision to back APC presidential candidate Bola Tinubu in the upcoming election.

Chimaroke has stated on numerous occasions that he will work for the former Lagos governor at the expense of his party’s candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Festus Keyamo, a spokesperson for the Tinubu/Shettima campaign council, responded that the suspension would have no effect on Chimaroke.

The Minister of State for Labour, Employment, and Productivity attacked the opposition party in a tweet on his official account, saying the PDP is collapsing in the middle of its campaign.

Keyamo tweeted: “Waste of time; cutting your nose to spite your face. Suspension is of NO EFFECT WHATSOEVER at this time, because the law says he remains a candidate of the party.

“A party crumbling in the middle of campaigns! It is failure to respect its own constitution that is now hunting it”!
