Speaking during his UK-Nigeria Parliamentary Strategic Dialogue visit to the United Kingdom, Kalu addressed investors and scholars at Oxford University, accompanied by fellow lawmakers Chris Nkwonta, Ginger Onwusibe, and Ibe Okwara. He emphasized that redirecting funds from subsidies has bolstered critical sectors such as healthcare, education, and infrastructure.

Kalu also highlighted advances in security, revealing the capture of over 1,500 insurgents in the Lake Chad Basin due to strengthened collaboration between Nigerian armed forces and regional allies.

The Deputy Speaker praised Speaker Tajudeen Abbas for championing rural development and cited his efforts to secure funding for the South-East Development Commission, addressing historical grievances in the region.
