Kalu Vows To Deliver Abia To APC In 2027, Pledges Full Support For Tinubu

According to political analysts, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, representing Abia North, has pledged to leverage his influence to secure Abia State for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.

Kalu made the declaration during his annual New Year visit to Ebonyi State APC Chairman, Chief Stanley Okoro-Emegha, in Ekoli, Edda Local Government Area. The former Abia State governor stated that he would commit all available resources to ensure the APC wrests power from the incumbent Labour Party (LP) in the state.

He affirmed his support for President Bola Tinubu and the APC governorship candidate, adding that his efforts would focus on delivering a decisive victory for the party in Abia State. Kalu emphasized that his remarks were aimed at achieving APC’s total success rather than targeting individuals, noting his friendship with the current governor, Dr. Alex Otti.

Kalu also urged governors across the country to take responsibility for the security of their states rather than relying solely on federal intervention. Reflecting on his tenure as Abia governor, he highlighted the state’s security achievements under his administration, noting that Abia experienced minimal cases of kidnapping and other crimes during that period.

He commended Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State for ensuring peace and security, suggesting that other leaders should emulate such governance.

The senator further explained that his visit to Chief Okoro-Emegha was motivated by a long-standing personal loyalty. He described the Ebonyi APC chairman as trustworthy, noting that he had mentored him since childhood and had previously guided him under former Governor David Umahi, emphasizing that Okoro-Emegha has consistently demonstrated loyalty to leadership.
