Kano Gov Approves ₦20,000 Eid Bonus For Workers
According to Ireporter Online, Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has approved a ₦20,000 Eid-el-Kabir goodwill package for civil servants across the state as part of efforts to ease the financial burden of the festive season.
The intervention, which applies to workers in the state civil service and those in the 44 local government areas, is targeted at employees on Grade Levels 01 to 14 across ministries, departments, agencies, and local councils.
The approval was disclosed in a statement released in Kano on Tuesday by the Press Secretary to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Musa Tanko-Muhammad.
The statement noted that the initiative was introduced to support workers ahead of the Eid al-Kabir celebration, especially in light of prevailing economic challenges and seasonal financial demands.
Governor Yusuf explained that the gesture reflects his administration’s continued commitment to the welfare of workers, describing civil servants as the backbone of governance and public service delivery in Kano State.
He further stated that the financial support is intended to help workers celebrate the Eid festivities with dignity and renewed hope alongside their families.
The governor also reaffirmed his administration’s focus on people-centered policies aimed at improving staff welfare, enhancing productivity, and strengthening an efficient public service system. He extended Eid greetings to workers and residents of the state, praying for peace, unity, and continued prosperity in Kano and Nigeria at large.
