Several residents of Lagos came to the rescue of Farida Sobowale, the proprietor of House of Phreedah Bodycare and Spa, who was reportedly in the process of attempting suicide by jumping into a lagoon from a bridge on Thursday.

Sobowale had driven her Lexus SUV to the bridge extension and appeared ready to jump into the lagoon. However, bystanders intervened and prevented her from taking the drastic step.

In a video that has gone viral, the Lagos socialite, dressed in black attire, was visibly upset and sobbing as concerned individuals held onto her, ensuring that she didn’t proceed with her suicide attempt.

Reports suggest that Sobowale, a well-known figure in the skincare industry in Lagos, recently experienced a marital breakdown.

Her marriage to her husband, Demola, reportedly ended just a few days prior. Notably, the couple had a lavish wedding around two months ago, but her husband had since moved out of their home.
