“Let’s Reclaim Our Future: Richman Urges Unity Ahead Of 2027 Akwa Ibom Poll”

According to Ireporter Online, a leading Akwa Ibom businessman and 2027 governorship aspirant, Godwill Richman, has vowed to usher in a new era of industrial growth and social welfare if elected governor of the state.

In a statement titled “A Message of Wisdom and Hope,” Richman called on elders, youths, women, and political stakeholders to unite for the collective advancement of Akwa Ibom, urging them to prioritize the future of their children and unborn generations over fleeting political interests or personal gain.

He cautioned members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former leaders against being influenced by political deceit or artificial hardship, insisting that truth and wisdom will ultimately triumph. “To betray our past, our unity, and our hope is a crime against the people’s trust, against humanity, and against progress,” Richman stated, warning against those he described as political manipulators who mislead the people with false promises.

The governorship hopeful expressed concern over what he termed the “diminishing influence” of Akwa Ibom at the federal level, citing a lack of appointments, poor representation, and minimal participation in federal projects. He lamented that both military and civil service reforms have largely excluded indigenes of the state, while major infrastructure projects continue to bypass the region.

Richman also faulted the current state administration for failing to harness the state’s growing federal allocations and internally generated revenue for meaningful development. He contrasted the present situation with the achievements of previous PDP-led administrations under former Governors Victor Attah, Godswill Akpabio, and Udom Emmanuel, whom he praised for delivering “uncommon transformation” with less funding.

He described the forthcoming 2027 governorship election as a defining moment for Akwa Ibom’s political and developmental future, vowing to restore prosperity through industrialisation and people-centred leadership. “Come 2027, we will reclaim our future. Let us unite to return our rightful PDP governorship seat and restore Akwa Ibom to progress, pride, and prosperity,” he declared.

Richman further pledged to transform the state into what he called “a modern Dubai of Africa” within four years, leveraging available federal allocations and internal revenue. “With today’s robust federal allocations and strong internal revenue, four years is enough for me to transform Akwa Ibom State and its people,” he assured.
