The trial judge, Rahman Oshodi, found the Lagos-based cleric guilty of sexual assault, bringing a disgraceful end to Daniels’ once-revered position.

The victim, who had been summoned to the Lagos headquarters of the church, detailed the horrifying experience of being punished by Daniels for missing a meeting. Ordered to his house for what she thought was a beating, she was instead subjected to a brutal rape session, enduring 30 minutes of assault that left her bleeding.

The incident, which occurred in 2020, came to light when the victim reported the case in 2022, leading to Daniels’ arrest by the FCID Alagbon, Lagos. In his defence, Daniels accused three of the victims of conspiracy during the trial on October 21, 2023.
