According to Ireporter Online, media personality Tope Adenibuyan, popularly known as Teddy A, has criticized Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde over the recent kidnapping of schoolchildren and teachers in the state.

Teddy A expressed his outrage via his Instagram story, reacting to the growing insecurity in Oyo State and the abduction of pupils and educators in recent attacks. He linked the development to what he described as inadequate handling of security matters by the state government.

He alleged that despite receiving substantial yearly security allocations, the state has failed to adequately protect its residents, leaving schools and communities vulnerable to repeated attacks.

The media personality further suggested that political ambitions may be affecting governance priorities, claiming that more attention is being directed toward politics rather than safeguarding lives and property.

In his words, he stated that Oyo State receives about ₦12 billion annually as a security vote from the federation, amounting to approximately ₦84 billion over seven years, yet insecurity persists across communities.

He said Governor Makinde was “playing politics with the lives of his people” in pursuit of presidential ambition, a claim that has sparked reactions across social media.

Recall that suspected gunmen had attacked two communities in Oriire Local Government Area on Friday, May 15, 2026, killing two people while abducting several pupils and teachers.

Two days after the incident, one of the abducted teachers from Community High School, Ahoro Esinele, identified as Michael Oyedokun, was reportedly killed by the attackers, with a video of the incident later circulating online.
