Makinde Remains Silent On Choice Of Running Mate

According to Ireporter Online, Makinde made the disclosure on Friday after a closed-door meeting with Bauchi State Governor and APM leader, Bala Mohammed, at the Bauchi Government House, where he spoke with journalists.

When questioned about the person being considered for the vice-presidential position, the Oyo governor explained that the party had not reached a final decision, noting that discussions and consultations were still in progress.

Makinde said Nigerians would be informed of the choice once the party officially submits the names of its candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

“Let us wait until the names are uploaded to the INEC portal. It is part of the consultation. We still have enough time, and the consultations will continue,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Governor Bala Mohammed described Makinde’s visit as part of ongoing efforts among governors to share ideas, exchange experiences and improve governance across different states.

The Bauchi governor emphasized that collaboration among leaders at both state and national levels remained crucial in addressing challenges and adopting effective policies.

Mohammed noted that regular engagements between governors provide opportunities for states to learn from successful initiatives implemented elsewhere, adding that such interactions contribute to better governance.

Speaking on the political future of the Allied Peoples Movement, Mohammed expressed optimism about the party’s growth ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He described the APM as an emerging opposition force that is positioning itself to play a major role in Nigeria’s political landscape by providing constructive alternatives.
