Justice Abdulmalik, in her ruling, affirmed that the evidence presented by the prosecutor established Mohammed’s culpability beyond reasonable doubt. She cited the severity of the offence under Section 221 and Section 79 of the Penal Code and pronounced the mandatory penalty of death by hanging.
The judgement maintains that Hamza Mohammed, convicted for his involvement in the clash resulting in the fatal stabbing of one Isah Mohammed by another individual, Baba Usman, will face the ultimate penalty. Usman, currently at large, was reportedly with Mohammed during the incident.
As the legal proceedings conclude, the sentence underscores the gravity of the crime and serves as a reminder of the consequences of engaging in acts of violence.
