With 60.3 million likes as of 14:50 (WAT) on Tuesday, Lionel Messi’s World Cup photo has become the most-liked Instagram post.
Following his team’s World Cup victory, the Argentine forward shared a photo of himself hoisting the trophy.

Messi, 35, captioned the photo on Sunday, “CAMPEONES DEL MUNDO!!!!!!!” The post surpassed the previous record of the most-liked photo (shared by a user named @world record egg), which had 56.5 million likes as of Tuesday afternoon. That image was uploaded on January 4th, 2019.
