The horrifying incident occurred on Thursday night, prompting the deployment of police, Nigerian Army soldiers, and other security personnel to secure the town and its citizens. The monarch’s palace, where the fatal shooting took place, witnessed a heightened security presence to prevent any further acts of violence.

According to an anonymous local resident who spoke to Punch Newspaper, the security forces have established a visible presence, employing an Armoured Personnel Carrier and initiating a thorough stop-and-search operation on residents. The primary objective is to ensure the safety of the community and avert potential reprisals.

The source emphasized that the security personnel, including police officers and soldiers, are conducting the operation without harassment, aiming to prevent any recurrence of the tragic incident.
