The appeal was made during a congratulatory message delivered in Abuja on Sunday, celebrating the inauguration of Governor Ododo and his deputy, Mr. Joel Oyibo, as the fifth leaders of the state.

Minister Audu encouraged Governor Ododo to build on the achievements of his predecessor, Yahaya Bello, and concentrate on establishing sustainable peace and unity for the advancement of Kogi.

As the Director-General of the Kogi All Progressives Congress Governorship Campaign Council, Audu expressed confidence in Governor Ododo’s ability to elevate Kogi to new heights.

He highlighted the significance of Ododo’s victory in the polls on November 11, 2023, considering the governor’s widespread popularity and acceptance across the state. Audu, reflecting on his role in the campaign, affirmed his confidence in Ododo’s victory despite political intrigues.

The inauguration of Governor Ododo took place on Saturday at Muhammadu Buhari Square, Lokoja, marking the commencement of his term as the elected governor of Kogi.

Ododo, who secured victory on the APC platform, emerged as the winner with 446,237 votes during the off-cycle governorship election, defeating his closest rival, Mr. Murtala Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party.

In his initial actions upon assuming office, Governor Ododo appointed Dr. Folashade Ayoade as the Secretary to the State Government, recognizing her previous role in the eight-year tenure of former Governor Yahaya Bello. The governor also announced the appointment of Ali Bello as Chief of Staff, signaling the commencement of his administration’s leadership team.

As Kogi embarks on a new phase under Governor Ododo’s leadership, the Minister’s call for a focus on security and infrastructure resonates as a pivotal aspect for the state’s progress and prosperity.
