Miyetti Allah Leader Backs Tinubu’s Re-Election, Enters Senatorial Race Buzz
According to Ireporter Online, the National President of the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore Socio-cultural Association, Bello Abdullahi Bodejo, has rejected the consensus arrangement being promoted by the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership in Taraba State.
Bodejo made his stance known during a visit to the APC secretariat in Jalingo, where he also declared his intention to contest for the Taraba Central Senatorial seat under the APC platform. He insisted that he would not step down for any aspirant, stressing that he would not be part of any consensus arrangement being pushed by the party leadership.
His declaration comes amid ongoing efforts by the APC in Taraba State to adopt consensus candidates ahead of its forthcoming primaries.
The Miyetti Allah leader also revealed that members of the association have begun mobilising support for President Bola Tinubu across Northern Nigeria ahead of the 2027 general elections, attributing the campaign to what he described as the president’s achievements in the region.
Speaking during the visit, the APC State Chairman, Abubakar Bawa, assured party members that the party would ensure a credible, free, and fair primary process, while noting that consensus remains part of the proposed selection method.
Meanwhile, political analysts have warned that the disagreement over the consensus arrangement could deepen internal divisions within the APC in Taraba State. There are also indications that the State Working Committee may be acting on alleged directives linked to Governor Agbu Kefas, urging that candidates emerge through consensus rather than competitive primaries.
