The operation, executed by the Air Component of Operation Fansan Yamma, specifically targeted the residence of Mallam Saleh, a notorious bandit kingpin and a loyal associate of Dogo Gide, who has been behind a series of violent attacks, kidnappings, and extortions in the Shiroro region.

Air Commodore Olusola Akinboyewa, the NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, provided details of the mission, stating: “Saleh’s terror activities have caused immense suffering to the vulnerable communities of Shiroro. Using critical intelligence, our forces were able to track his movements and carry out a precisely coordinated strike aimed at dismantling his network.”

During the operation, NAF aircraft detected terrorists on motorcycles in the target area and swiftly launched a series of precision airstrikes, destroying Saleh’s weapons cache. The subsequent secondary explosion confirmed the total destruction of the munitions, severely crippling the terrorists’ operational capabilities.

The mission is in line with NAF’s broader strategy of disrupting terrorist logistics and infrastructure to restore peace in troubled areas. NAF has emphasized its ongoing commitment to working closely with ground forces to maintain air dominance, provide real-time intelligence, and carry out precise operations to protect civilian lives.

Akinboyewa further noted, “This operation has had a profound impact on the terrorist group, weakening their operations and ensuring greater security for innocent civilians in the region.”
