This distinguished group of soldiers, comprising both men and women, hailing from six different divisions in the South West region, has been lauded for their gallantry and dedication to duty.

Among the decorated heroes are Ojo Benjamin, Yunisia Dorcas, Attah Patience, Aminu Salihu, Taiwo Rashidat, Ibrahim Ibrahim, Adayami John, Alabi Helen, Ekemode Musa, and Agbe Mary – individuals whose valor has significantly contributed to enhancing national security.

The prestigious awards, symbolizing the highest honor bestowed by the Nigerian Army, were bestowed upon these deserving soldiers by none other than the esteemed Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja. The ceremony took place amidst the grandeur of the Nigerian Army Combat Service Support Corps and Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management (NACOLM) end-of-the-year 2023 West African Social Activities (WASA) event, held in Lagos.

In a message conveyed by Major General Mohammed Usman, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division, the army chief emphasized the importance of perseverance and steadfastness in fulfilling the sacred duty of safeguarding the nation’s territorial integrity. This recognition not only celebrates individual heroism but also serves as a rallying call for all Nigerian Army troops to continue their noble mission with unwavering determination.
