Nigerian Troops Eliminate Terrorist Leader Maikusa And Three Associates In Katsina

The Nigerian Army has achieved a significant victory in the fight against terrorism, neutralizing Maikusa, a notorious terrorist leader, along with three others in Katsina state. According to a statement by Maj-Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, the Director of Army Public Relations, the operation led to the successful clearance of terrorists’ enclaves in the targeted areas. Despite encountering fierce resistance from the violent extremists, the troops displayed remarkable bravery and overpowered the terrorists with superior firepower.

The aftermath of the firefight saw the recovery of two AK-47 rifles, three magazines, 65 rounds of 7.62 mm special ammunition, a locally fabricated gun, and camouflage uniforms. Additionally, troops destroyed terrorist camps in several villages across Kurfi and Safana Local Government Areas as part of the ongoing clearance operations.

Maintaining an aggressive posture in the region, the Nigerian Army remains committed to eradicating the remnants of terrorist cells to ensure lasting safety and security in Katsina state.
