Bakare suggested that certain nations are wary of Nigeria’s potential prosperity.

He further noted that internal corruption, perpetuated by the elite who benefit from the current system, also hinders progress. According to Bakare, these elites resist reform and eliminate those challenging the status quo. While acknowledging Nigeria’s interactions with international bodies like the World Bank and IMF, he emphasized the need for leaders to address the root causes of the country’s challenges rather than merely focusing on building legacies.

Bakare stressed, “The elites benefit from corruption and hold the country down. Our founding fathers prioritized national interest over personal gain. Today, we must uncover and address the root of our problems to honor their legacy.”
