In a thrilling match on January 9, Aruna showcased his resilience after dropping the first game 10-12. He bounced back to win the next three games with identical scores of 11-9, securing his place in the next round.

As the sole African representative and fifth seed in the tournament, Aruna skillfully navigated Pitchford’s challenges, proving his mettle on the international stage.

In his upcoming match, Aruna will face Spain’s Alvaro Robles, who also advanced after defeating a Japanese opponent in the second round.
