No Anointed Candidate! ADC Breaks Silence On Presidential Endorsements

The interim national publicity secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Bolaji Abdullahi, has made it clear that the party has not entered into any discussion regarding its presidential candidate for the 2027 elections.

According to iReporter Online, Abdullahi stated this on Saturday in Abuja during the third plenary session of the Northern Political Consultative Group (NPCG), themed: “Peace and Social Cohesion: A Panacea to Challenges of the North.”

He emphasized that the ADC is not structured to serve the ambition of any single individual.

“We don’t have any favourite aspirants or candidates, we are not having any conversation at the moment,” he said. “Nobody has ever had any discussion about who will be the party’s flagbearer.”

According to iReporter Online, Abdullahi reiterated that the party’s current focus is on building a solid political platform capable of delivering on its foundational mission.

He stated, “It is still too early in the day to begin aligning with any aspirant. Our primary goal is to create a party that prioritizes national interest over individual ambition.”

He further stressed that ADC is deliberately structured to prevent it from coalescing around any single personality. “As I’ve said time and again, the ADC is not built for anyone’s personal ambition.

It is a political platform committed to offering a new trajectory for Nigerian politics, we have no predetermined agenda,” he added.

According to iReporter Online, the former minister reiterated the party’s commitment to reshaping Nigeria’s political culture, affirming that ADC stands for inclusivity, transparency, and long-term national development.
