malicious, and part of a deliberate attempt to undermine its ongoing efforts and the progress of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
According to the statement, the FIIRO management, led by its Director General, emphasized that the reports circulating on various media platforms were entirely unfounded and intended to mislead the public. The management further expressed concern that the false narrative was aimed at sabotaging the significant contributions of FIIRO toward the government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“The attention of the Director General and the management has been drawn to several misleading newspaper articles and online reports claiming that the Lagos office of FIIRO was destroyed by fire,” the statement read. “These claims are categorically false and malicious.”
The statement also assured that there were no fire-related incidents at the FIIRO premises or surrounding areas, confirming that the institute remains safe and secure. Furthermore, the Lagos Response Unit (LRU), stationed near FIIRO, did not respond to any fire-related alarms.
FIIRO management pointed out that the institute has a dedicated and professionally trained safety team in place to prevent any such occurrences, reinforcing their commitment to the institute’s mission of cutting-edge research for the well-being of Nigerians.
The Director General expressed dissatisfaction with some media outlets’ failure to verify the facts before publishing such misleading reports, calling their actions unprofessional and unethical.
In conclusion, the statement reaffirmed that FIIRO remains dedicated to its core mission of advancing industrial research and supporting national development, in line with the government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
