At a press conference held in his hometown of Iruekpen, Senator Osunbor shed light on the chaotic events of the flawed primary, advocating for the annulment of the contentious polls due to widespread irregularities.
Osunbor recounted the absence of party officials during the supposed election day across all 18 Local Government Areas of Edo State, casting doubt on the legitimacy of the process. He lamented the lack of transparency and fairness, pointing out the emergence of multiple flag bearers as a result of the botched primaries.
Expressing concern over the orchestrated efforts to destabilize the APC in Edo State, Osunbor urged Tinubu to intervene urgently. He called for a thorough investigation into alleged inducements aimed at sabotaging the party’s chances and creating a path for the opposition.
Osunbor’s appeal for Tinubu’s intervention underscores the critical need for the party to uphold its principles and ensure a credible electoral process ahead of the upcoming governorship election. As the most widely recognized aspirant in Edo State, Osunbor’s call for fairness resonates deeply, highlighting the urgency of restoring order and integrity within the APC.
